The White Mountains 

Climbing in the White Mountains is both pleasant and challenging and has been attracting mountaineers since the last century. 
Rock climbs are on the dramatic granite cliffs near N. Conway. Cathedral and Whitehorse ledges are well known, and there are many other good cliffs in the neighborhood. 

For more alpine climbs the area offers the thousand foot east face of Cannon Mountain, the largest rock face east of the Rockies, and the buttresses in Huntington Ravine on Mt. Washington.
